Connecticut Railway & Lighting 504

1965, General Motors, TDH-4519

History

Built in 1965, 504 is a “second-generation” GM Transit Bus. This bus started life as CR&L Lines 504, running from Bridgeport to Waterbury. Because of this, it has a lower gear ratio to allow for better negotiation of the hills in and around Waterbury. 504 was later purchased by the State of Connecticut and renumbered to 3001. When the Connecticut Motorcoach Museum acquired the bus, it was renumbered to its original number and paint scheme.
